Students at the Wisconsin Connections Academy take courses that are almost entirely taught online. The WCA has begun an optional program that encourages students and their parents to attend a field trip that provides educational and social benefits to the children. Also, it helps the children make real life connections to other students they are in class with, but may have never met due to the online nature of the school.
This article involves implementing educational programs that are not typically seen in the realm of traditional education. This program is "forward," being that the students are used to not knowing their classmates or getting a real school experience, and the school has created a program that allows the students to experience something other than the norm for them while also providing an educational trip.
